Innovation, Immersive and Impression…. Obviously cost too.

Portray the innovative nature of your business from the moment your target audience is introduced to you, make them instantly recognise you are technologically forward-looking and they will trust you are a leader in your industry.

Spent painstaking hours and thousands in renovation? Is the architecture of your building admirable?

Show. That. Off.

No, I don’t mean with a bland compilation of slow-motion clips. Have your prospective client literally fly through gaps, wizzing past decorations at such a pace their curiosity will peak. One of the distinctive features of FPV flight is how captivating it is.

Say your land is vast and you are considering a normal drone shot from above, a fly-through will emphasise the size and space much more effectively than a Birdseye view. As the FPV drone circulates around corners and traverses through doors it gives a sense of grandiose impression.

Hourly rate for the lighting person, hourly rate for the sound person, hourly rate for the person holding the microphone, hourly rate for the costume manager, hourly rate for make-up, hourly rate for the cameraman, hourly rate for the editor, hourly rate for equipment hire. “A member of staff has fallen ill/can’t make it for our agreed date, sorry we have to reschedule” –

RitiFPV is professional, lean and agile – this translates to money back to your pocket, simple.

FPV flight footage can be posted like any normal video on any social media, however it will be delivered typically at 5k quality, so it might have to be compressed down to 4k or even 1080p for publishing on social media sites in situations where a timely upload is required.

360 Footage is more limited in the sense that the raw 360 video can be posted to YouTube and Facebook but TikTok and instagram don’t support its format. However a 1080p cropped version where the field of view is decided and cropped beforehand can be produced from the raw footage, this cropped video can be posted anywhere.

You are trying to acquire a younger, inattentive and cynical generation in a 5 second time slot. That’s a reality for most advertisement. Adopt the strategy of social media giants and surprise them with highly dense content on their screens before they can react, myself being Gen Z, take it from a double agent.

Competition is strong, be impactful.

Additionally, your current loyalists will appreciate new perspectives, this can be seen with Formula 1, National Geographic and Golf enthusiasts. If you have never seen FPV drone footage featuring your product/service/venue type, then it is likely this is more of an opportunity rather than a problem. Get in touch and we can get the creative juices flowing.

This is completely dependent on your needs and could be anything from a collection of short clips lasting a total of 10 seconds or a continuous clip of several minutes.

The only limitation is the drone battery which lasts roughly 5 minutes at a time at full performance.

Both styles are possible, as a single continuous clip with no cuts, FPV footage works very well with production lines or customer journeys as they consume/utilise your product/service because the footage conveys a story or journey.

Cuts are advantageous if more dynamic footage is required or total video duration must be short.

As a stand-alone style of filming but it can be seamlessly integrated into a traditionally shot commercial

An initial site visit is needed to survey the location and discuss the flight path, carry out risk assessments and ascertain both the client and myself are clear on our expectations.

Dependent on weather conditions, factors such as rain and wind are most problematic outside.

When charging batteries is a possibility on site, a small pause no longer than 30 minutes is taken after roughly 30 of straight filming, this cycle is usually repeated until the all the desired shots are required.

Historically this could take a single film session of 30 minutes or several cycles over different days due to narrow film windows, generally clients are asked if they can spare 3 hours.

Safety briefing given to all actors and additional staff involved in the filming must be given.

I will typically be controlling the drone from a hidden location within the premises to ensure maximum signal strength at minimal distance to the antennas whilst being concealed from the shot.

The drone is very light at less than 250 grams (like a slightly bloated hamster), 18cm/7” wide and long, will have propeller guards which prevents damage to involved people or equipment.

Drone pilot is A2CofC certified which consists of government recognised in-depth drone safety course allowing for expanded liberties whilst flying.

To ensure maximum resolution and video focus, moderated flight speeds are better (5-15km/h) however, if motion blur is desired then higher speeds should be used.

The weight of the drone with the battery included is less than 250 grams which is an important limit to ensure minimal regulation by the Civil Air Authority.

Like a mountain biker will walk their lines on rock paths before racing downhill, as a drone pilot it is essential to inspect the area for any potential risks and opportunities. Risks may include thin dangling decoration or wires, differently lit spaces in quick succession (to foresee camera exposure settings), opportunities could be identifying gaps not accessible to mere humans which the drone could squeeze past and offer unique perspectives (imagine your premises through a bumblebees’ eyes).

Discussing the flight path with clients is also a perfect way to establish clear goals and ascertain everyone is clear on expectations for the job as a whole.
